How to Remove the MagSafe Ring
The MagSafe Ring that comes with your Bookcase attaches to your phone or phone case via a strong adhesive. Removal of the ring is a simple process, and it requires only a few household items.
What you'll need to remove the MagSafe ring
- Plectrum pry tool: This is included with your Bookcase MagSafe ring kit, and looks like a guitar pick.
- Isopropyl alcohol: Also known as rubbing alcohol, and we recommend using 70% isopropyl alcohol.
- Soft cloth or sponge: A microfiber cloth is recommended, but any clean soft cloth or sponge will work.
How to remove the MagSafe ring
- Gently wedge the pry tool between the magnetic ring and the surface it is attached to. Be gentle during this step if the ring is attached directly to a phone; we don't want to scratch or break your device!
- Once under the ring, gently move the pry tool around the edge until the ring pops off.
- Gently scrub any adhesive left on your phone or phone case. Spray the isopropyl alcohol onto the cloth or sponge you are using rather than directly onto the phone or phone case. This will minimize any mess and potential for damaging the device or phone when cleaning it.
→ Spraying the cloth rather than the case or device is especially important for softer cases like silicon.
4. Dry your device or phone case. Wipe away any alcohol and left over residue with a dry microfiber cloth or paper towel.
