Luna Display and Boot Camp

Luna Display works with both Mac and Windows, but Boot Camp has limitations that prevent full compatibility. Although Luna Display isn’t officially supported with Boot Camp, some users have had success with it. Here’s what to expect depending on which Luna hardware you’re using.

USB-C

The USB-C version of Luna Display works with both Mac and Windows, as long as your device has a compatible port. This Luna Display version is the only one we’ve found to work with Boot Camp on Mac computers reliably.

HDMI

The HDMI version is made for native Windows devices only. Even if you're running Windows on a Mac, the HDMI Luna likely won’t work. macOS and Windows use different APIs for HDMI ports on Apple hardware, and we unfortunately don’t have access to them.

Mini DisplayPort (mDP)

The Mini DisplayPort version has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase. However, if you already have one, it’s only compatible with macOS and is designed for older Macs with Thunderbolt 1 or 2 ports. It will not work with Windows or Boot Camp.
