Non-QWERTY Keyboard Shortcuts Issue
Some non-QWERTY keyboard layouts may prevent on-screen shortcuts and gestures from working properly. While we work on a fix, follow the steps below to adjust your shortcuts.
Editing Shortcuts (Recommended)
Adjust the Undo and Redo shortcuts, or any others that aren’t working, in the Edit Shortcuts menu.
1. Open Astropad Studio and click Workspace to open the menu.
2. In the "Workspace" menu, click Edit Shortcuts.
3. Select the shortcut you want to change, then click Clear Keys. Enter the correct keystroke based on your keyboard layout.
4. Click Save to confirm your changes.
Keyboard Layout Adjustments
AZERTY (French) Keyboard
Change the following shortcuts:
- Undo: Command+W (instead of Command+Z)
- Redo: Shift+Command+W (instead of Shift+Command+Z)
- Using the Astropad Studio On-Screen Keyboard? Press the W key.
- Using a physical AZERTY keyboard? Press the Z key.
QWERTZ (German/Swiss) Keyboard
Change the following shortcuts:
- Undo: Command+Y (instead of Command+Z)
- Redo: Shift+Command+Y (instead of Shift+Command+Z)
- Using the Astropad Studio On-Screen Keyboard? Press the Y key.
- Using a physical QWERTZ keyboard? Press the Z key.
Switching to a U.S. Keyboard Input
If editing shortcuts doesn’t work for you, switch to the U.S. QWERTY keyboard while using Astropad Studio.
Mac
Go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources and add the U.S. keyboard.
After using Studio, switch back to your preferred layout.
Windows PC
Windows 10
Go to Start Menu > Settings > Time and Language > Preferred Language. Select your default language, click Options, then Add a Keyboard and choose U.S. QWERTY.
Windows 11
Go to Start Menu > Settings > Time and Language > Language and Region. Click Add Language, select English (U.S.), and install the language package.
NOTE: Clip Studio Paint does not fully support Undo/Redo gestures with the Swiss-German keyboard layout. Switching to the U.S. layout restores default gestures.
- To Undo in Clip Studio Paint, tap the screen with three fingers.
- To Redo, tap the screen with two fingers.
