Luna Display and eGPUs
Using Luna Display with an eGPU
Luna Display can work with external GPUs (eGPUs), but we have only tested it with the Blackmagic eGPUs sold by Apple.
Important: Luna Display will only use the eGPU if the Luna dongle is plugged directly into the eGPU. If you plug it into your Mac instead, it will default to using the internal GPU.
Troubleshooting eGPU Compatibility
If you're using a different eGPU, it may still work, but we cannot guarantee compatibility. If you experience issues, try the following:
- Ensure Luna Display is plugged directly into the eGPU.
- Check that macOS is set to use the eGPU under System Settings > Displays > Use eGPU when available.
- Restart both your Mac and eGPU after connecting.
For the best performance, ensure your eGPU is properly connected and configured in macOS.
